....Get a Dog License?   

1.      Animal must have a valid rabies shot in order to get a license
2.      Animal must be six months old before they can get a shot, 1st shot is good for one year 2nd and after are good for 3 years.
3.      Bring to the Clerk's Office rabies shot certificate that does not expire within the present year.
4.      Supply the following information:
    a.      Owners name and address
    b.      Telephone number
    c.      Sex of dog
    d.      Breed of dog
    e.      Age of dog
    f.        Long or Short hair
    g.      Name of Dog
    h.      Spayed/Neutered (from the Spayed/Neutered Certificate)
    i.         Rabies Expiration Date (from Rabies Certificate)
5.      Pay the Licensing Fee, $21.00 if Spayed/Neutered $24.00 if not.
6.      You will be given a paper license expiring January 31st of the following year, and a metal numbered tag to be placed on your dog.

If a dog is found with a Woodstown Tag we can get it back to the proper home.

A late fee of $10.00 will be charged on all licenses not renewed before March 15, of the current year.
 
There is an additional penalty of $50.00 if the license is renewed as a result of the Dog Census.
 
If you know longer have your dog please contact the Borough at 769-2200.

....Get a Cat License? 
The same information and documentation needed for a Dog License the Fee for a cat license is $18.00 with a $3.00 reduction if the Cat has been Spayed/Neutered.

....Pay My Water & Sewer Bills? 
Handled by the Clerk's Office

Water 

Water Meters are read in January of each year.  You receive a bill that represents a minimum bill for the current year and an excess bill for the water used the previous year over 40,000 gallons per unit.
    a.      Total Bill is divided by four to allow for four equal payments February, May, August and November.
    b.      A ten-day grace period is given for each payment with interest charged at 18% per annum on delinquent bills.

If selling your home a search should be requested a final meter reading costs $10.00.  (Remember that if you normally have an excess water charge the water you are using today will not be billed until next January.)

All check payments for water must be issued to the Woodstown Water Department.

(Borough Auditors do not allow us to cash a check in order to divide it between different bank accounts.)

        The Woodstown Water Department is a department run by the Borough Council

Sewer 

        Bills are mailed once a year in July.  A calculation is made of $425.00 basic solid charge per unit plus 60% of the dollar amount of your most recent water bill.  A minimum Sewer Bill is $533.00 per fiscal year, July 1 to June 30.
    a.    Total Bill is divided by four to allow for four equal payments February, May, August and November.
    b.    A ten-day grace period is given for each payment with interest charged at 18% per annum on delinquent bills.

All check payments for sewer must be issued to the Woodstown Sewerage Authority.

(Authority Auditors do not allow us to cash a check in order to divide it between different bank accounts.)

If selling your home the requested final meter reading will include an accounting of your sewer bill also.   (Remember that if you normally have an excess water charge there is also an excess sewer charge the water you are using today will not be billed on the sewer bill until next July.)

        The Woodstown Sewerage Authority is made up of Five Individuals who were appointed by the Mayor and Council for a five-year term to run and administer the Sanitary Sewers. 

....Get a Marriage License? 

Applying For A Marriage License

1)    Bride and Groom
2)    1 person to witness both signatures (18 or over)
3)    Certified copies of Birth Certificates
4)    Certified copies of Divorce Paper if married before
5)    $28.00 cash or check
6)    Come in at least a week prior to your wedding
7)    Your license will be held for 72 hours before you may pick it up

Days and Times you may apply Monday -- Friday 9 to 4 by appointment

...Get Certified Copies of Death, Birth or Marriage

Must fill out an application:

1.      Stating your name and address
2.      Reason For the Request
3.      Your relationship to the individual (self son/daughter)
4.      Provide proof of identification Photo ID with Address.
5.      Exact name and date on the vital record
6.      Pay a $10.00 fee per Certified copy

Bring an Issue to the Council's Attention? 

1.      Address a letter to Mayor and Council, PO Box 286, Woodstown, NJ 08098

2.      Call the Clerk's Office 769-2200 and ask to be put on the Agenda.  If you have any background information you can supply before the meeting it will be helpful in bringing the Council people up to speed on the issue


....Have a Yard Sale? 

You must have a yard sale permit before the day of your sale.

Come to the Clerk's Office with:

1.      Your Name and the address of the sale
2.      Date of the sale
3.      $15.00 ($5.00 yard sale fee, $10.00 deposit on signs)

Our Yard Sale signs were instituted a number of years ago to stop the paper signs hung from telephone poles that become litter in other towns.  Our signs are the only off-site signs you can use to advertise your sale. 

        Place the signs between the curb and the sidewalk at the end of your block on both ends pointing toward your house.  Please pick the signs up promptly after your sale so that your signs do not burden your neighbors.

When you return your three signs you will receive your $10.00 deposit.


....Find Out Why My Trash Was Not Picked Up? 

       Trash Pick Up - Only household trash will be picked up. No yard waste (grass clippings, leaves, etc.), bulk items or recyclable materials. Orange trashbags are no longer required!

       Large Trash - The Fee is $20.00 per item, come in pay your fee, and we put you on the pick-up list.  Put the item on the curb the night before pick up day.
